Using charts
These charts are derived from data supplied to the Fracture Liaison Service Database (FLSDB) clinical audit by individual Fracture Liaison Services treating fragility fracture patients. The charts are used by clinical teams involved with patient care and help drive quality improvement by providing timely feedback on service quality and compliance with national care standards.
The charts have an 'indicative status' only and should not be used for any authoritative purpose. You should not use or publish this data in any form without explicit permission from the FFFAP/FLS project team at the Royal College of Physicians.
• The data:
Data is selected from the audit data, aggregated and summarised and presented on the chart(s).
Note: Only valid data has been extracted to display on the charts,
incomplete, duplicate or inaccurate records have been excluded where possible.
• Legend:
This displays the colours and symbols used on the chart to identify each data item. Click a data-item in the legend, to add or remove the data item from the chart.
• The 'Data Box':
This 'pops up' over the chart and can be used to get an exact value for each data-point. When you move your mouse, the box should follow. Only the active data will be displayed, data disabled in the legend and removed from the chart will not be shown.
• Zooming:
The chart can be zoomed in time only, just drag your mouse over the data you are interested in. If a chart has been zoomed, a button will appear in the top right area of the chart which will 'Reset Zoom' when clicked. You can keep dragging over the data if you want to zoom in some more. If you are using a touchscreen device, pinch-zoom on the chart to zoom.
• Panning:
If a chart has been 'zoomed' down to show a selection from the data, you can use pan (or scroll) over the data by holding down one of the 'shift' keys and clicking and dragging your mouse left or right. If you are using a touchscreen device, drag over the screen to scroll through the data.
• Exporting data:
A chart-menu will is available in the upper right-hand corner of the chart which allows you to choose a number of additional operations, such as exporting data as images or PDF documents. This is available for your personal use only. Please contact the RCP to discuss any other use of these charts.
